How to Completely Uninstall UltraUXThemePatcher & Restore Windows DLLs

Safety & Restoration Guide | By UltraUXThemePatcher Team

Need to return your Windows system back to factory appearance, or prepare your PC for a major Windows version upgrade? UltraUXThemePatcher includes an automated uninstaller designed to restore your original system DLLs with 100% fidelity.

What Happens During Uninstallation?

When you install UltraUXThemePatcher, the installer creates backup copies of your system files: uxtheme.dll.backup, themeui.dll.backup, and uxinit.dll.backup. During uninstallation, the utility:

  • Removes patched binary modifications.
  • Restores the original, un-modified Microsoft DLL backups into C:\Windows\System32 and SysWOW64.
  • Cleans up registry keys associated with the patcher.
  • Sets default Windows visual style themes back to active status.

Step-by-Step: Standard Uninstallation via Windows Settings

  1. Before uninstalling, open Settings -> Personalization -> Themes and switch your active theme back to standard Windows (Light) or Windows (Dark).
  2. Open Windows Settings (Win + I).
  3. Go to Apps -> Installed Apps (or Apps & Features in Windows 10).
  4. Search for UltraUXThemePatcher in the list.
  5. Click the three dots (or select the app) and click Uninstall.
  6. Follow the on-screen uninstaller prompt and allow administrator permissions.
  7. Reboot your computer to complete restoration.

Manual Verification: Ensuring Original Files Are Intact

To confirm that your system files are 100% factory original after uninstalling, open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:

sfc /scannow

If all original files were restored successfully, the output will report: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
